What is the process?

Let’s take an example of DesignXperts (name changed) - a web design company based in London. This company builds websites for almost 250 new customers every month. In Feb 2006, they decide to outsource the design process to vSplash. 

• DesignXperts (DX) sells websites direct as well as through its resellers.
• DX handles the sales, payments, contracts etc.
• After the sales process is over, DX Sales rep passes on the account to the Design Support group rep.
• The Design Support group rep takes all details from the customer like the logo, homepage structure, links, reference sites, preferred colors etc.
• The Design Support group rep then enters this information into the project tool provided by vSplash.
• DX assigns a project manager to handle all interactions with vSplash.
• vSplash then takes over the design process and builds a custom layout for the website and feeds the information into the tool. 
• The entire communication process between vSplash and DX is managed through the tool. Of course, other channels of communication are also open between the partners and the project managers on both sides regularly interact to enhance the relationship and the business. 
• Once the custom layout is approved by the customer, the DX rep sends the info via the tool. 
• vSplash designers then start building the complete site.
• The due date and the progress of the site is specified in the tool so that the DX rep knows the status of the project at all times.
• At any point in time, the project managers on either side, can see the project status of any project from the dashboard for a complete production pipeline snapshot.
• Once the design work is complete, it is presented in the tool.
• DX then presents it to the customer and hosts it on approval. 
• The project is closed in the tool.
